Toxin

Toxins (Dysport, Newtox, Jeuveau, Botox, Xeomin): All toxins last about 3-4 months when enough product is injected. Neurotoxin acts at the level of the nerve and prevents nerve transmission to the muscle. This in turn prevents the muscle from moving so much, thereby, lessening the wrinkling or folding of the skin. When the skin is relaxed the wrinkles soften. Commonly injected areas are the glabella (frown), crow’s feet, forehead, masseter (large muscles on jaw area), bunny lines, lip lines, neck bands. It can also be used to prevent excessive sweating (armpits).  Toxin is often used to relax tense muscles and can be used for headache, TMJ and other areas of tension also.
