Threads
Lifting threads, also called barbed threads, have little Velcro-like structures that attach to the tissue. After a lifting thread is inserted, the bi-directional thread is then attached to the skin and then pulled like a purse-string. The sagging skin is then pushed up along the length of the thread thereby giving an instant lifting appearance of the skin. The thread remains in place stimulating collagen. It will dissolve slowly over time. Cheeks, necks and brows are frequently treated in this manner.
Smooth threads are shorter threads also inserted into the skin. The smooth thread remains in place stimulating collagen and providing structure. The improvement of wrinkles, scars, and volume loss are immediate. The smooth thread can be used in place of filler to augment cheeks, jawline or other areas. The smooth thread will dissolve slowly over time but the collagen remains.
